Libby Hammer, born in Germany to American parents, grew up in Perth and as a child was constantly involved in theatrical productions. In 1989 Libby completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in French (given how long ago that was, any attempted conversation beginning with, “Bonjour, comment ça va?” will be met with a perplexed stare, I promise you). Soon after graduating from UWA, Libby Hammer's performance in the circus musical Barnum launched her into a colourful 4 years as a birthday party clown, costume actor and Flim Flam’s Singing Telegram Deliverer.
Libby then went on to study jazz at the Western Australian Conservatorium of Music where she completed 5 years of jazz studies in 1997. |
