Alex Manfrin’s work has appeared on Radio National, 720am, Homegrown Humour, SBS and at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
An interest in cartooning led him to writing comedy for breakfast radio which in turn led him to start performing at the Laugh Resort in the mid-90s usually as characters such as the Bull Terrier-loving Ian from Hills, the devious youth arts officer Art Admino or the tedious bard known as Barry the Bloody Boring Bush Poet.
Alex Manfrin has become best known in recent years as John How-Odd, his hilarious alter-ego who bears an uncanny resemblance to an Australian Prime Minister with a similar name. Mr How-Odd has become a popular face at conferences and corporate functions as well as stand-up comedy venues.
Alex Manfrin also coordinated Fremantle’s only regular showcase for stand-up comics, The First Friday of the Month Comedy Show at the Fremantle Hotel from 1995 -2005. |
